What ages do you cater for, and do you have space currently available?
We take children from babies’ right through to six years old. Spots move around, so the best way to check our availability is to give us a call on 06 867 4565 or fill out our enquiry form.
How do I enrol, what's the process?
Head to our Enrol Now page or give us a call, and we’ll walk you through it. After we get in contact, we’ll send you our parent handbook so you know exactly what to expect before your child’s first day.
Do you offer 20 Hours ECE, and how does the subsidy work?
Yes, we do. If your child is 3 – 5 years old, the government covers up to 20 hours a week, and that comes straight off your invoice. You don’t apply for it separately or fill out extra forms with the Ministry. When you enrol, we’ll sit down with you, work out which hours you want covered, and complete the form together.
What are your operating hours and days?
Monday to Friday, 7.45am to 5.15pm.
What are your fees, and how do we pay?
Our hourly rate is $9.90, capped at $368 a week for children over three and $335 for under threes. There’s also a one-off enrolment fee, $20 per child or $30 per family. Invoices go out by email every Tuesday at 4pm, and are paid by online banking.
Are there any additional or optional costs on top of the base fee?
There is a $5 daily meal charge for children on 20 Hours ECE, which is optional. Statutory holidays get charged in full if they fall on your child’s normal enrolled day. Every child also gets four weeks of annual leave a year at half fees.
Do you accept WINZ subsidies or other payment assistance?
Yes, we do. If WINZ is covering part of your fees, let us know when you enrol and we’ll factor that in from the start.
What's your policy on food, meals, and allergies?
We’ve got a full menu and recipe page you can look through before enrolling. If your child has an allergy or dietary need, tell us before day one and we’ll build a plan around it to make sure they are still getting nutritious food.
What happens if my child is sick, or gets sick while in the centre?
If your child is unwell, please keep them home to protect the other kids and staff. If something comes up during the day, we’ll call you straight away, not wait until pickup to mention it.
Can I visit or check in on my child during the day?
Absolutely. Drop by whenever you like. We know the first few weeks especially can be hard on parents, sometimes harder than on the kids so you are more than welcome to come and hangout.
Do you separate children into age-based rooms or groups?
Yes, our nature-based programme is structured around learning stages, nursery through to kindergarten age. Each stage has its own rhythm and activities suited to where the children actually are developmentally, not just a room full of mixed ages doing the same thing.
